Talk: The COIL Approach
Today’s highly technological and globalized world demands innovative education methods. Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) is an approach that uses new technologies to bring together educators and students from different cultures to learn, discuss and collaborate. This approach gives educators the opportunity to design shared syllabus so students can enjoy intercultural experiences based on experiential and collaborative learning (Rubin, 2017). However, ensuring that COIL experiences are meaningful represents challenges. In this session, audiences will learn the importance of COIL and how to implement this approach effectively.
