Mónica Celis Arias is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education. She holds a Master's degree in Neuropsychology and Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages with a focus on Methodology for English Language Teaching. Additionally, Mónica is a professional musician, having earned an undergraduate degree in Music from EAFIT University. This background has influenced her approach to incorporating music into English language teaching. She has also completed a Business English Teaching Diploma and a CELTA course (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults), both of which she passed with the highest distinction. Mónica's areas of interest include assessment, program and curriculum design, methodology, and teacher training. She is actively involved in research activities as well as in course, material and learning experiences design. Furthermore, she participates in the development of training for standardized tests preparation, assessment literacy, and teacher training. Mónica has contributed to research in neuroscience, educational neuropsychology, teaching methodology, and didactics related to standardized test preparation. Currently, she serves as a Senior Learning Consultant for Proficiency Assessment and PTE at Pearson LATAM.
